Five African Favourites

Something of a wonder oil, the striking citrus hit this oil presents is extracted via stream distillation and is often used in massages.

Manketti Seed Oil (aka Mongongo Oil), Cold Pressed

This delightful oil is a true African beauty, which is rich in goodness and highly versatile in the ways it can be used and applied. Sourced from Manketti nuts (also known as the Mongongo fruit or nut), has a high nutritional content and is rich in both Vitamin C and E, which are known to help with repairing the skin. Something of a super power in the anti-ageing world, it can be used for scalp repair, to hydrate and strengthen nails or to improve the skin’s elasticity. This oil comes from the huge and very old Baobab tree and contains an abundance of essential fatty acids including omega 3 and 6 as well as Vitamin A and E. Desert Date Oil, Cold Pressed

From the very dry edges of the Sahara is this resilient and arid savanana plant, which remains green all year long. In fact, this serves as a green oasis which allows other plants to find shelter under its shadow. With deep-sunken roots, this pioneer plant is a source of nourishment with its young leaves and ripe fruits. The seeds provide an oil through the cold pressing process, which has become popular in the cosmetic world due to its high fatty acid content.

Yangu Oil, Cold Pressed

Produced by the Maasai tribe in Kenya, this cold pressed oil has been used in both cooling and personal care for generations in this part of Africa. It is a 100% cold pressed nut oil, which is a beautiful light serum oil, and is perfect for both skin and hair. It is highly nutritious with a rich anti-oxidant content as well as being rich in essential fatty acids. It can be applied directly to the hair or skin and easily absorbs.
